Important partner of UL in Asia
As one of the most important partners of UL in Asia-Pacific region, STD has collaborated with UL for more than ten years. The business volume of STD ranks the top in Asia-Pacific region and even the global market. Furthermore, STD has conducted extensive and in-depth cooperation with UL on various sectors such as lighting, appliances, wire and cable and furniture supplies, etc.
In lighting industry, STD has surpassed the testing agencies from Taiwan and Hong Kong and became the most significant testing agency in Great China and even Asia-Pacific region. Besides, as the participant of UL’s Preferred Partnership Program (hereinafter referred to as PPP), the highest level of UL's authorization to testing agency, STD takes the lead in business volume and engineering capability concerning UL project and obtains the widest scope of the test capability approved by UL at the moment.
In wire & cable industry, with the assistance offered by UL’s professional engineers, STD has successfully passed the rigorous audit of IECEE and became a recognized CBTL (Certification Body Test Lab) for wire and cable industry to facilitate UL’s completion of CB testing tasks for wires and cables in Asia and Great China. Meanwhile, STD is the third-party lab authorized by UL for UL817/UL498 in South China.
For furniture, UL and STD have established Preferred Partnership to provide Chinese furniture manufacturers with localization testing and certification services for household and commercial furnishings in China pursuant to UL962, the safety standard of UL. The UL safety certification for household and commercial furniture and furnishings, including commercial displays, decorative furnishings and electronically-controlled furniture, can be completed at the lab of STD in Guangzhou.
Besides safety testing, the cooperation between STD and UL has extended to energy efficiency testing. As the sole partner of UL to promote energy efficiency testing for lighting products in Mainland China, STD joins hands with UL to offer Energy Star testing, energy efficiency testing and other related services.
Besides the certifications in North America, STD and UL have extended their cooperation to CCC/CQC Certification and EU Certification, etc.
